About Cameron Mount
I’ve got more hobbies and circles I travel in as an amateur than even I can keep track of, but one thing I’m not is a visual artist. I am a:
Poet, college writing instructor, technology buff, sci-fi/fantasy fan, and roleplaying gamer. Father, husband, son, brother, geek, soccer fan, amateur card magician, basic balloon twister, and a pretty decent home cook. LEGO enthusiast, book hoarder, trivia fan, and amateur movie critic. Heavy metal music advocate, web-comic reader, comic book collector, novice ed-tech proponent, former Navy officer, three-card-monte tosser, and sometime spoon bender.
I served as an officer in the US Navy from 2001 to 2007, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before leaving to pursue a career in writing. In 2008 I earned my MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College. Recent poems have been published in or are forthcoming from Mead Magazine and Wilderness House Literary Review, with many more works under review by other journals. I currently teach writing at Brookdale Community College.
